Rockridge Out & About Street Festival

Oakland, CA - Every year, "Rockridge Out & About" showcases the area's businesses and services with a something-for-everyone street fair. Outside and alongside the shops and restaurants that make Rockridge a year-round destination, over half a mile of College Avenue becomes the stage for local musicians, street performers fashion shows, cooking demos, in-store workshops, wellness activities, and hundreds of merchant, artisan, and community booths.
This popular festival features a Main Stage for live music and community announcements, the Rockridge Runway with fashion shows from the local boutiques, and The Chef Stage with cooking demonstrations from neighborhood restaurants and food writers. Food-themed activities also abound with myriad gourmet food and beverage booths, and at Market Hall's "Picnic in the Street." A festival within a festival, "Picnic in the Street" turns the corner of Shafter and College into a farmers market with cheesemakers, olive oil producers, produce growers, and winemakers. Market Hall chefs fire up the grills while the merchants hold comparative tastings. The popular Used Cookbook Exchange returns-bring a book, take a book.
Multiple activities for children include pumpkin painting, cupcake decorating, and fashion shows. The Kids Court, located at the Rockridge BART station has activities for children and families including giant bounce houses, slides, and train rides.
Attendees will stroll up and down College Avenue enjoying food and street entertainment as they visit Featured Festival Areas including *Wellness Tent *Green Living Expo *Home and Garden *Kids Court *Art Gallery Alley * Artisan Marketplace* and shop at participating Rockridge businesses located along College Avenue.
Organized by the Rockridge District Association, College Avenue will be closed to traffic between Claremont and Manila on Sunday September 27, and visitors and residents alike will have a chance to celebrate the day by being . . . well, out and about in Rockridge. Exemplifying our neighborhood community spirit, "Rockridge Out & About" is the result of year-long planning and the invaluable support of sponsors and the community.
