We are deeply saddened by the tragedy unfolding in Haiti’s capital city of Port-au-Prince and its many surrounding shantytowns which were decimated by a large 7.0 earthquake last week. Elisa Uribe would like to ask your help in conjunction with Soles4Souls to provide appropriate rugged boots and shoes to help survivors locate others trapped in the rubble and begin the rebuilding process.
This country already ranks among the very last in economic opportunity and experiences widespread poverty. In the past few years it has been hit with four large hurricanes, several deadly floods and now a monster earthquake.
What can you do? Along with other vital donations, such as medical supplies, food, potable water tablets and blankets, a pair of solid shoes is absolutely necessary in order to participate effectively in rescue and rebuilding efforts.
We are asking you to find and give the most appropriate footwear to help the victims of this awful disaster, and to do it quickly. For the next two weeks, we will collect donated shoes at our office located at 1451 Leimert Blvd. Oakland and send them off to Souls4Souls. Shoes must be dropped off no later than January 29th.
To make other types of monetary donations please go to www.redcross.org or another reputable, charitable organizations.

We thank you in advance for you help,
Sincerely,
