R&B Cellars is the Wine that Swings!
The East Bay is starting to create its own wine scene in Alameda,
one winery at a time. My first encounter with R&B is when I met
the owner at a recent party where they were gracious enough to be
serving two of their popular varietals.
Kevin Brown is on the left.
Since 1997, the winery’s core mission has been to create superb wines
that deliver tremendous value to the consumer. I’d say they have worked
hard on their mission and it has paid off since Jerry Shriver from USA
Today called their 2002 Zinfandel “Music to my Tongue!”
When you’re job is your passion, you’re bound to succeed and Kevin
and Barbara Brown are not only the winemakers and owners, but they are
jazz musicians who were able to tie together their passions with one big
bow.
The winery is located at 2301 Monarch Street, Alameda, CA 94501,
or you can go call them at 510-794-8477. For a sampling of their wines,
stop by Tuesday- Sunday during the hours of 12 p.m. -5 p.m.
