The Revival of downtown Napa (part 1-breakfast)The Revival of downtown Napa (part 1-breakfast)
In for words: “Downtown Napa is Cool!” The city of
Napa has spend a lot of time and money updating the downtown are of
Napa. Now they have to get the word out.
If you are looking for a fun way to spend the morning in Napa and you
want to do something in addition to wine tasting at the wineries here’s
my suggestion. Start your day with a delicious omelet at the Curbside Café
on First Street in Downtown Napa. I highly recommend the Greek Omelet
which is served with your choice of toast and a side of potatoes.
My only caution is if you start your day early they may not be open. I
know, is that confirmation of a small town or what! Breakfast before 9
a.m. you can always go to Gillwoods.

It’s located in the shopping mall and is within walking distance from
the Curbside Café. They make their own baked good and if you order
French toast, it’s made with their bread. Yum!
After breakfast, walking downtown you’ll notice there are a number of
empty store fronts that are currently featuring California Artists.
Here is my favorite display:

Before you find yourself shopping the store fronts that are open, you should pop into the Napa Valley Coffee Roastery
for a cup of java. Although I stopped drinking coffee, I couldn’t
resist a decaf cup of coffee to go along with a bagel. I don’t know
where they get their bagels from but I’m still thinking about them! And
the coffee? Well, I am a lover of Peet’s and I have to say, their coffee
is to par.
If some of you are thinking, didn’t she just eat breakfast? Well…yes,
it’s true, but how could I resist all these new places I had yet to
try!
