Whole Foods in Oakland CA
Everyone has their favorite grocery store and mine is Whole Foods.
Whole Foods Market is the world's largest retailer of natural and
organic foods, with stores throughout North America and the United
Kingdom and each store is unique. The Oakland location used to be a
Buick/Cadillac car dealership but it sat dormant for many years. We are
very fortunate as a community that Whole Foods took an eye sore and made
it into eye candy.
It’s located a block away from Lake Merritt which means, a nice three
mile walk around the lake with a friend and lunch at Whole Foods makes
for a nice, relaxing and healthy afternoon.
In addition to organic vegetables and fruit, I love buying grains in bulk and not paying for all the unnecessary packaging.
For when you are on the go, they have a salad bar, make soups daily,
offer a sushi bar while your sushi plate is made while you shop, pizza
by the slice, hot food ranging from Mac and Cheese to Indian in the Hot
Food Section…the options just go on and on.
In an era where so many people are dying of heart attacks and cancer,
it's more important than ever to get back to the basics and eat healthy
and nourish your body and your soul. Not to mention, you can vote with
your wallet.
If more people buy organic foods, we will see supply and demand at
it's best and eventually the prices will come down on foods that are not
sprayed with pesticides, and seeds that haven't been altered.
